Shoefix was
established in 1993 in the previous Model Supermarket (now Pick'nPay) in
Wernhil Park, Windhoek, but closed down after the take-over by Pick'nPay. After the
refurbishment of Auas Valley in 2001, Shoefix was once again launched under a new
identity in this complex, next to the furniture shop on the 1st floor. Today you will still recognise SHOEFIX by its distinctive blue and yellow colours - however, we've
some new and popular lines have been added to the already popular range of products!
The business has grown since then and in 2002 another
branch was opened in Windhoek in the Maerua Mall Shopping Complex. This venture provided additional job
opportunities for experienced shoe repair workers. Soon thereafter another branch was opened in the CBD of Windhoek in the well-known Gustav Voigts Centre.
We believe in the
training of all staff members in order to serve our clients. Many
thanks to Gerhard Baufeld and his input in this regard. Our staff
members receive training in Finishing Machine techniques and stitch work on
a regular basis.
Additional services include:
1.
Replace Zippers (You bring the zipper - we do the work);
2. Shorten belts;
3. Repair bags;
4. Repair tears to leather articles;
5. Webbing (Those strips attached to the famous Strops sandals).
We really hope to
always do our slogan proud: we've got the experience - trust is with your
shoe repairs.
Most people consciously or subconsciously judge other people by the shoes
they wear - and shoes that don't look good or don't fit well, may often
project a wrong image of someone!
In addition, the average person
walks some 160,000 kilometres in his/her lifetime which is the equivalent of
circumnavigating the world four times! Our feet more than ever need
well fitting shoes expertly constructed from the best available materials to
help protect them from the excesses of our modern environment! BUT do we
always buy the best shoes? Do our soles always last that long?
That's when a visit to Shoefix can only pay off!
Did you know during a normal day your feet produce over a 1/4 cup of
moisture
and
up to a 1/2 cup when active?
